Extra officers set to target Dudley crime hotspots
11:00am Tuesday 7th February 2012
EXTRA police officers are set to pound the pavements in three Dudley wards following an increase in recent crime.
Residents in Castle and Priory, St Thomas and Upper Gornal and Woodsetton will see extra patrols in their neighbourhoods, due to an increase in serious acquisitive crimes and criminal damage.
Sergeant Chris Fox, leading Operation Consolidation said: " We will work closely with the Offender Management Department to ensure that offenders wanted for offences, breaches of curfew and bail conditions are arrested and pro-active monitoring takes place."
Residents are also being urged to help officers target crime in their area. Anyone with information about suspicious activity in their neighbourhood should contact Dudley police by dialling 101.
