Netherton bookworms to check-out books themselves
8:10am Tuesday 7th February 2012
NETHERTON Library users will soon be able to borrow and return books themselves using self-service technology.
The latest addition to the library, which is set to be in place in the spring, will mean all borough libraries will have the self-service facility.
Councillor Adrian Turner, cabinet member for housing, libraries and adult learning, said: “The council began its programme to introduce self service technology in 2007 and it had proved extremely popular with many visitors in the last few years.
“It’s fantastic that we are now in a position to roll this out to all libraries. It’s very simple to use and more importantly frees up staff time to help people with any queries they may have.”
